What is Acne?
Acne (acne vulgaris) is a skin disease evidenced by clogged pores (blackheads and whiteheads),pimples, and larger cysts or nodules occurring mainly on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arm area.
Many factors, including genetics, stress, hormones, environment, heavy and/or oily makeup, and diet, all play roles.
Acne is caused by dysfunction of the hair follicle and its accompanying sebaceous gland. The sebaceous gland produces sebum (the skins natural moisturizer), Acne begins to develop when keratin (found in hair, nails and the outermost layer of skin) over-accumulates and blocks the hair follicle (hyperkeratinization) obstructing the flow of sebum.

I was very pleased with how the removal of my seborrheic keratosis, a large skin lesion, was done and can honestly say that no pain was felt, nor was anything rushed. Dr. Joe listened to what I had to say concerning the lesion and advised me as to how it was going to be removed. Tracy actually did the removal, which she did really well and I felt no pain whatsoever. I was talked through as to what was happening and the end result I am very satisfied with. They are very caring, professional and friendly people at Medfacials and you feel totally at ease at all times. I would have no hesitation in using them again.
